GOODNIGHT JUNE, Tour Recap Part 1!
I still have stops in Chicago and New York City ahead (check the events page here for details), but I have had the loveliest time connecting with readers from Houston, Portland, and Seattle in the past weeks. What a joy my job is—signing books, talking to readers, and sharing a little about my life and writing process with them. Here are some highlights from my recent travels:
When I arrived in Portland, at the lovely, historic Heathman Hotel, this letter from the hotel’s librarian requesting a signature for the hotel collection of books was waiting. I was so honored!
Before my reading at Powell’s, I stopped at The Nines for a glass of wine on the rooftop deck. What a gorgeous night, and I felt so glamorous!
In Houston, I had the privilage of reading at Murder By the Book, a lovely old independent bookstore, where I’ve become good friends with bookseller extraordinaire, John. Here we are before my reading (John wore a Goodnight Moon shirt for the event—how fun is that?!).
That night in Houston, a bottle of lovely champagne arrived in my hotel room from someone very special, and it made me smile….
Before taking off for my travels, I signed a ton of books at Third Place Books in Seattle (my hand actually got a cramp from all the signing—a good thing!).
And then my Seattle signing at the Pacific Place Barnes & Noble in Seattle—what fun!
I loved meeting and chatting with Seattle readers (several who drove 100+ miles to buy their copies of GOODNIGHT JUNE and have them signed—I was so honored!).
Of course, I used my pink Sharpie…
And I loved this review of GOODNIGHT JUNE in First for Women—right beside my friend Jonathan Tropper’s book!

Hi Sarah! I’m such a big fan of your books and am about halfway through Goodnight June (an excellent book, by the way!) and wanted to ask if you might be visiting the Philadelphia area? If so, I’d love to come for a signing. Thanks for writing such intriguing books!
Nicole
Hey, there’s me! So great to see you and get Goodnight June signed before I move to Texas. I can’t wait to read it after I get settled in. Hope the rest of your tour is great.
