I still have stops in Chicago and New York City ahead (check the events page here for details), but I have had the loveliest time connecting with readers from Houston, Portland, and Seattle in the past weeks. What a joy my job is---signing books, talking to readers, and sharing a little about my life and writing process with them. Here are some highlights from my recent travels: When I arrived in Portland, at the lovely, historic Heathman Hotel, this letter from the hotel's librarian requesting a signature for the hotel collection of books was waiting. I was so honored! Before my reading at Powell's, I stopped at The Nines for a glass of wine on the rooftop deck. What a gorgeous night, and I felt so glamorous! In Houston, I had the privilage of reading at Murder By the Book, a lovely old independent bookstore, where I've become good friends with bookseller extraordinaire, John. Here we are before my reading (John wore a Goodnight Moon shirt for the event---how fun is that?!). That night in Houston, a bottle of lovely champagne arrived in my hotel room from someone very special, and it made me smile

My friend Charles snapped this photo of the boys and me at Pike Place Market yesterday under the Turkish Delight sign. I have two books on the bestseller list in Turkey, and hear from Turkish readers every day. I'm so very grateful for the book love from this lovely country, and I cannot wait to travel to Istanbul from November 9-16 to meet my readers and tell them thank you in person!
