A while ago, I told my literary agent that I wanted to write a book about cake. Yes, cake. Which, actually seems weird, since I've been writing about health for magazines for so many years---five years as a health contributor for Glamour. But here's the thing: Sometimes, life calls for cake. Tonight the boys spontaneously decided to grab a bunch of ingredients from the cabinets and attempted to make a cake. Let me list them for you: flour, bread crumbs, cinnamon, vanilla, curry powder, garlic powder (!), baking powder (proud of them for selecting that---they get it!), and an assortment of other odd things (Colby---age 2---grabbed a box of Annie's mac and cheese). And they mixed, and giggled, and in about 20 minutes, they had their pretend cake. Tomorrow we'll bake a real cake. And it will be messy, as life is. A beautiful mess. And I think I will write a cake book someday. Someday. P.S. This recipe looks really good. P.P.S. Morning Glory comes out in two weeks---squeal!

I'm so excited that my fourth novel, THE LAST CAMELLIA, has been chosen as the Amazon Kindle Deal of the Day! For today, Sunday only, you can grab a copy for your e-reader for $2.99. (Barnes & Noble, and Kobo readers, you too!) This novel blends my favorite topics: love, mystery and secrets. And, Downton Abbey fans will also enjoy the setting--an old English manor. I hope you'll download it and enjoy! (And, please share!) xo

How gorgeous is this new cover? My publisher, Penguin/Plume, did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the "great green room," didn't they? In case you don't know, Goodnight June is inspired by the classic children's book, Goodnight Moon and its brilliant author, Margaret Wise Brown. It's coming in---of course---June 2014, but it's available for pre-order at a few retailers now. You can find it on Amazon and soon on Barnes & Noble, and more retailers to come. I hope you grab your copy, and I can't wait for you to read this story, which is very very special to me. (And, don't forget, Morning Glory is out on November 26---so one more book before this June 2014 title---a big year for me!)

I am so proud to be apart of the wonderful Read Pink campaign sponsored by Penguin Books in support of the fight to end breast cancer. If you buy a copy of The Last Camellia, or any of the other titles above, this month, each purchase supports breast cancer research---pretty awesome, right? We also want women to check the following link http://thebustboosters.com/naturaful-full-product-review/real-results-and-testimonials/ which will help them make better decisions when it comes to breast growth.
