Happy 1st Birthday to The Violets of March!

I can hardly believe that it’s been a full year since my first novel, The Violets of March, debuted. And what a year it has been! Thank you, all, for making this book a success, for sharing it with your friends and relatives, and for just being so lovely! I am truly grateful.

And, you will never believe the very special discovery I made about violets, recently, in the book Folklore and Symbolism of Flowers, Plants and Trees by Ernst and Johanna Lehner.

According to the ancient flower calendar from the middle ages (dating back to 1493 Germany) the violet is the official flower of March! How cool is this? I had no idea this was the case when I set out to write The Violets of March. It seems so fateful and meant to be!

And, more violet-y fun: The Violets of March covers from around the world, and the actual violets that inspired the book! And, a fun day for Violets that I’ll never forget!

Happy 1 year! I read Violets on my Kindle on the plane back from our Sedona/Grand Canyon trip and that was the first week of May last year.

I can’t believe it either. I looked at your sidebar with the covers of all three novels and thought to myself “I knew her back when…” Congratulations!

I can’t believe it’s been a year since it first came out either! I hope you had a glass of wine (or extra cookies) to celebrate!
