This Made My Day

My pal Elise Allen, author of the sparkling new young adult novel, Populazzi (pick up your copy!), snapped this photo of my novel at Vroman’s in Los Angeles (Southern California’s largest and oldest independent bookstore), where The Violets of March appears on a shelf of staff picks. It’s hard to read the caption, but I squinted, and it reads: “My mom read this book and couldn’t stop raving about it! ‘It’s the best book I’ve read in ages,’ she said.”

Love. Thank you, Vromans!

I want to begin by saying how much I loved Violets in March! Could hardly put it down. I will miss the characters.

I do need some clarification though. Bee is Emily’s mom’s aunt, page 11– Bee was an only child, page 23. This must mean she was he aunt by marriage. So, was her husband, Bill, Bobby’s brother or Janice (Jane’s brother), or Esther’s brother? Did I miss this connection somewhere? I must admit that at parts I was so anxious to solve the puzzle I was flying through the pages. This is niggling at me though.

    Thanks so much.
