What's On Your Bookshelf?

I’m busy finishing up a few books that I committed to reading for jacket blurbs (I can’t wait to tell you about them—such good stories!), and then I’m on to a big stack of new books that I’ve been collecting to read. The first, The Paris Wife (I feel like everyone and their mother has read this one but me!). The lovely Camille Noe Pagan sent me a copy in the mail recently (friends who send friends books are the best kind, I say!). Next? This one’s kind of funny, but it is a nostalgic read for me: I’m going to dig into Behind the Attic Wall by Sylvia Cassedy. I ordered it on a whim recently because I remember reading it as a child (and loving it), and yet I can’t recall what happens in the story, so I want to re-experience it. (P.S. Don’t you love that imaginative bookshelf above? How cute would that be in a child’s room?)

What are you reading this fall?

Oh my goodness! I feel like this post was written just for me. I read and loved Behind the Attic Wall as a child and I finished reading The Paris Wife yesterday! The Paris Wife is good but so sad. I hope you like it.

I just ordered Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I know it’s been around for a while, but it’s been getting a lot of hype lately, especially with the movie coming out. And I want to read it before I see the movie. I also ordered I Don’t Know How She Does It. I saw that movie recently and thought it was cute. But, I’m sure the book is better (they usually always are, right?!).

Tears of the Giraffe, The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott, and The Bird Sisters are all stacked up and ready to go. Can’t wait!

I just discovered Sarah Addison Allen when I picked up a lovely hardback of her first novel Garden Spells in a used book store. As soon as I read it, I ordered the rest of the books The Sugar Queen, The Girl Who Chased the Moon and The Peach Keeper. They are stacked up and and waiting patiently for me to step inside.

    Oh, I want that bookshelf!

I just finished With a Little Luck by Caprice Crane – so good and so funny!

I recently read The Paris Wife, and while it is sad in a lot of ways, I felt the overall tone of the story was uplifting. I liked how the author interpreted Hadley’s heartbreak.

Also, re-experiencing books is underrated 🙂 Have fun with Behind the Attic Wall!

I bought the Paris Wife but have yet to read it.
I am absolutely in love with the Outlander series. It completely changed my life.
